Black Holes and Battlestar Galactica

OK, so I was gonna post earlier, but we lost phone and internet connection for a few days, so I actually have a good excuse for once! I would like to say that I used the time to catch up on my reading, but all the books that I have I’ve read at least a half dozen times, and I’m not desperate enough to read my mothers’ Us Weekly. Yet. All I have to say is, thank God we didn’t lose our cable!

I’ve been going kind of documentary-crazy the past week or so, and the other night I watched one that theorized that there were micro black holes on Earth (primarily in the Bermuda Triangle). No, I don’t believe it. And no, I haven’t slept well since then. While I do believe weird stuff happens in the Triangle, I don’t think a black hole is responsible. Mainly because if it was, I would never sleep again. I came to the conclusion after I watched that that I need to start avoiding documentaries that even mention black holes.

So last night I watched a documentary on super-massive black holes (heh) that basically said that we have one at the center of the milky way galaxy. This was after I spent the entire day watching Perfect Disaster, and two other doc’s about Killer Waves and Killer Lakes. Personally I think that sleep is over-rated.

On a more pleasant note, I’ve been Od’ing on Deadliest Catch Season 2 repeats during the week. I really love that show. New season starts April 3! Wahoo! The timings good, because I’m gonna need something to fill the Battlestar Galactica void (season 3 ends Sunday, and season 4 doesn’t start until January! *sob*) Side note - 22 episodes for season 4 including a movie!!!! Wahoo!!!

RANT WARNING! RANT WARNING!

Speaking of BSG (because I feel that I’ve been very restrained on the amount of time that I spend talking about it here), I’ve been reading a lot of spoilers about the finale (no, I won’t put them here. Go to the TWOP or Sci-Fi boards if you want to see them), and all I have to say is WTF?!?!?! At least one character is revealed to be a cylon (not really a spoiler, it says that in the commercial that they aired at the beginning of season 3.5), and the who that some of the spoilers point to has me scratching my head. If they’re true, next season some ‘splaining needs to be done. On the plus side something happens that could lead to a good storyline for my favorite character, Sharon ‘Athena’ Agathon (who I feel has been greatly under-used all of season 3, to the point where I’m suffering from withdrawal. Although the FULL deleted scene of Sharon and Cally was kick-ass! I love badass!Sharon!). Um, hello, can somebody give the woman some screen time? And her own episode, too, please. She’s like, the only character that hasn’t had one (no, Boomer’s doesn’t count. Same actress, yes, but it’s a diff character). If I had to sit through two episodes in a row about Chief Tyrol and his annoying wife Cally (who just won’t seem to die. I finally got my wish and she was ejected out of an airlock, and she survived!!!!! Nothing against the actress, but Cally. Must. DIE!) I think I’ve earned a Sharon episode.

OK, my rant is over now. I think I’m gonna go watch Survivorman.

Later!
